After LOTS and LOTS of practice, it's finally here!

John went two years without coaching football, and now he's BACK! He is the head coach for the freshman Snow Canyon football team. They had their first game on Saturday in Las Vegas. They played the catholic Bishop Gorman football team. This school is very wealthy, their football stadium was incredible! Our team lost, but did very well, John is an excellent coach, and I really enjoyed watching him with a younger team, he will do an excellent job of getting them ready for varsity.John giving the kids some encouragement after losing the game.

In the bottom right corner, John is encouraging a player, he has a talent at making anyone feel special.

This is Payton's football team, he is playing tackle football this year, and is so excited, he is the second to last on the right in the front row.

Quotes that help me daily

To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many--now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." --President Gordon B. Hinckley

"I am asking that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good... Look for the sunlight through the clouds." --President Gordon B. Hinckley

"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you've collected a lot of empty yesterdays."--Prof. Harold Hill

"Wishing will not replace thorough preparation to meet the trials of life. Preparation is hard work but absolutely essential for our progress." --President Thomas S. Monson

"We knew before we were born that we were coming to the earth for bodies and experience and that we would have joys and sorrows, pain and comforts, ease and hardships, health and sickness, successes and disappointments, and we knew also that we would die. We accepted all these eventualities with a glad heart, eager to accept both the favorable and unfavorable." President Gordon B. Hinkley

All these things shall give thee experience
"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that
house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He's
getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew
that those jobs needed doing so you are not surprised. But presently, He
starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem
to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He
is building quite a different house from the one you thought of.--throwing out a
wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making
courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little
cottage: but He is building a palace." C.S. Lewis

Things my kids say

12/08 Lydia loves to play house, she assigns Trey the part of John, and she is me. "John, John, get back here, I'm trying to talk to you!" Many times I hear her yelling at John on her play phone, I asked her why she yells at John, she told me, "you always yell at John on the phone!" ouch!

12/08 Lydia says, "Mom, please get me some cereal, please...please, I'm running out of time!"

I told Lydia to get off the couch or she was going to her bedroom, she looked at me(I was nursing Brig) and said, "you can't get me, you're feeding Briggen"

3/08 Payton asked me if I got to pick my husband. I said, "yes", and his reply was, "you made a good pick, because you and dad look alike."

3/08 I gave Payton a short sleeve shirt for church, because it looked warm and I was sick of his long sleeve ones, and it happened to be very windy and cold, after church as we were running to the car he said, "I knew I shouldn't have trusted you to wear a short sleeve shirt."

3/08 Marcus is getting pretty sick of going on the stop sign trail with me, today he said, "I went to afternoon kindergarten so I could play, not run the stupid stop sign!"

3/08 Payton told me as he ran to get my cell phone, "good thing your kids have good ears. "

3/08 I asked Lydia if she wanted to be a mom when she grew up, and she said, "no, I want to be a barbie. "

4/8 As I was getting ready, Payton came in and asked me a question, and then smiled, I asked him why he was smiling, and he said, "Because you're hot." I said, "What?", and he said " Hot means you are beautiful."

6/08 It's hard to correct your kids English when it is so darn cute, Lydia says, "Why not you going?" I know when she starts to say "Why aren't", I'll be sad.

7/02/08 conversation with Lydia,
Lydia- I weally want to go to Grandma's
Mom-ok, we'll go up some time
Lydia- Why not we go right now
Mom- Grandma lives far away
Lydia- Mom, are we going to Grandma's or not
Mom- we'll go soon
Lydia- Tell the truth mom

Lydia says Needer mind for nevermind.
