Today, as I was enjoying my workout without kids, I got to thinking about the St. George Marathon. I ran the Salt Lake Marathon in 1997(?), and I just haven't had the desire to run one since. I absolutely loved it, it was definitely something I would recommend to everyone to do once, and it was such a spiritual experience, I've got pages and pages in my journal about how it impacted me. But running another one to me is like returning to heaven after this lifetime, and saying, "That was fun, when can I do it again?" I just don't really have the drive to do it again, but since I live here, I feel like I should run it at least once. I guess I'll try running the Hurricane 1/2 marathon and see if I get any motivation.
Today was a great workout, I got to go without my kids, and
I love running in Snow Canyon on Saturday. The park is full of cars, people from all over come to St. George this time of year to get out of the cold, and most people come to Snow Canyon to hike. I love to watch people explore little bits of Snow Canyon. Today I started running the Stop sign trail, and as I got a mile or so into it, I decided that since I did not have any of my kids, I was going to go off and hike. I love running up these mountains, they are safe, but tough, and it is easy to get a good workout in, and enjoy the beauty of Snow Canyon. This computer used to belong to "The Body Shop Spa", so I found this picture of Michelle doing a yoga pose in Snow Canyon.
Here is my back yard, I LOVE IT!!!!

Well, you know I am.
My favorite distance is the half-marathon but, I really do enjoy the challenge of a full marathon. I hope to do one each year and once the kids grow a little bigger, I'll start traveling to some of my life list of races.
As for the Hurricane Half, it's hard to know. I'm usually about 1:45 but I think I'll be closer to 2:00 this time (I hope!) It would be fun to run with you! The Ricks girls are running it too (Shelley & Lindsay at least.)
Your run/hike sounds really really good.
It's so great that you're taking full advantage of where you live.

Not me. Haha
Well, you can definitely NEVER count on me running the marathon... but you can count on me reading about YOUR experience:)
